BUYER-SIDE OR PROJECT-SPECIFIC
Machine Utilities Defined at Every Connection Point
Utilities should be collected from the final machine configuration, operating modes and simultaneity assumptions. High-pressure bottle-blowing air, low-pressure control air, cooling, power, water, drainage, steam and ventilation are separate services with different quality, pressure and connection requirements.

What this machinery does and when it belongs
Utility equipment supplies the air, cooling, power or other services required by selected machines. It is not possible to size a complete utility package from one generic line-capacity number; machine schedules and operating assumptions must be consolidated first.
- Production stage
- Buyer-side and supplier-side services connected to machinery throughout the line
- Selection status
- BUYER-SIDE OR PROJECT-SPECIFIC
02 · WHERE IT FITS
Follow the actual upstream and downstream product state
Site service sources, environmental conditions and the approved machinery utility schedule
Air Compressor, Chiller and Machinery Utilities
Conditioned services at each machine connection with assigned distribution responsibility
03 · BUYER DATA REQUIRED
Do not request a responsible selection without these inputs
- Final machinery list and utility schedule from each supplier
- Site voltage, frequency, ambient conditions and altitude where relevant
- High- and low-pressure air quality and pressure points
- Cooling temperature, heat-load basis and water quality
- Process/rinse water, drainage and discharge restrictions
- Steam or heat demand where selected
- Distribution route, redundancy and expansion expectation
04 · MACHINE FUNCTIONS
Describe the work, not a marketing adjective
- 01
Generate or condition compressed air for confirmed machine duties.
- 02
Remove heat from the machine circuits assigned to the chiller or cooling system.
- 03
Distribute electrical power and services to the agreed connection points.
- 04
Provide receivers, dryers, filters, pumps or controls included in the scope.
- 05
Report utility alarms and permissives needed for machine operation.
05 · MAIN CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
Choose an option only when its condition applies
PROJECT-SPECIFIC
Compressed-air package
Pressure stages, receivers, dryers, filtration, redundancy and air recovery depend on the blower and pneumatic consumers.
PROJECT-SPECIFIC
Cooling package
Chiller selection requires the confirmed heat loads, supply/return conditions, ambient design and distribution boundary.
PROJECT-SPECIFIC
Site services
Power, water, drainage, steam and ventilation responsibilities must be shown on a connection schedule rather than assumed.
06 · COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Eight interfaces must agree at the machine boundary
A supplier response should point to the controlling drawing, schedule or test for each row.
| Interface | Confirmation required | Evidence state |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanical | Pipe sizes, flanges, hose points, receivers, pumps, drains and service access. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Container | Bottle-blowing air and cooling influence container formation but require approved preform/bottle data. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Product | Any product- or rinse-water contact boundary requires separately confirmed hygienic conditions. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Electrical | Site supply, distribution voltage, short-circuit/protection basis, starts and connected loads. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Control signal | Pressure, temperature, flow, utility-ready, fault, low-level and machine permissive signals. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Utility | Quality, pressure, temperature, flow, simultaneity, redundancy and metering for every service. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Layout | Equipment room, ventilation, noise, heat rejection, pipe/cable routes, drainage and maintenance access. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
| Operator | Daily checks, draining, filter service, water treatment, alarm response and safe isolation. | Confirm in drawing, schedule or test record |
07 · SELECTION TRADE-OFFS
Record what the buyer is prioritizing
Central utility package
Trade against distributed equipment; record the buyer priority and evidence.
Redundancy and buffer
Trade against cost and footprint; record the buyer priority and evidence.
Lower capital cost
Trade against energy use and service access; record the buyer priority and evidence.
Future expansion margin
Trade against lightly loaded operation; record the buyer priority and evidence.
08 · COMMON QUOTATION OMISSIONS
Check what may sit outside the headline machine price
- Air receivers, dryers, filters and condensate management
- Cooling-water pumps, tanks, treatment and site piping
- Electrical distribution, transformers, cables and protection
- Steam generator, ventilation or exhaust where selected
- Connection hoses, valves, meters and insulation
- Installation, commissioning and local compliance work
09 · FAT INSPECTION POINTS
Trace the test back to approved project documents
- 01
Verify equipment identity and design conditions against the approved utility schedule.
- 02
Run compressors, pumps, fans, chillers, controls and safety devices as test conditions allow.
- 03
Check alarms, staged operation, permissives and shutdown behavior.
- 04
Review quality instruments, drains, heat rejection and maintenance access.
- 05
Record performance test limits, site commissioning duties, documents and service parts.
10 · MAINTENANCE AND SPARE PARTS
Prepare categories before shipment; confirm exact parts from the final configuration
- Compressor filters, separators and service kits
- Dryer drains, filters and approved consumables
- Pump seals, valves and cooling-circuit service items
- Sensors, pressure switches and temperature probes
- Contactors, relays and manufacturer-recommended startup spares
11 · NOT SUITABLE FOR
Reject the wrong application before discussing price
- Utility sizing based only on a marketing BPH value
- Sites that have not defined voltage, ambient conditions or distribution responsibility
- Using one pressure or water-quality assumption for all machine connection points
12 · INFORMATION NEEDED FOR QUOTATION
Send a machine-level request that can be answered
- Final machine utility schedules
- Site electrical data
- Ambient and environmental conditions
- Pressure, temperature, flow and quality points
- Operating hours and simultaneity
- Redundancy and expansion philosophy
- Distribution and installation boundary
Technical descriptions are selection guidance. Final machine, capacity, material, component, interface, utility and service details must be confirmed in the project proposal.
